It’s Hallowe’en! Are you able to take some time off to enjoy the parties that are happening this week and to spend some quality time with your family during the mid-term holidays? Or is your to-do list so frighteningly long that it means you’ll be glued to your laptop while everyone else is off having fun, dressing up and eating treats?
You know that your to-do list has reached chilling heights and you could benefit from outsourcing to a virtual assistant when the following rings true:
1.You’re no longer inspired by work
You decided to go into business to follow a dream. If you have lost the spark and excitement that you once had because you are bogged down in administration, it’s time that you considered outsourcing some of that work so that you can get inspired again. Start by making a list of the jobs that you really hate doing, now ask yourself how many of them could be done by someone else, like a virtual assistant. Once you offload those necessary but time-consuming tasks you can start to refocus on the direction in which you want to take your business.
2. You’re buried in administration
When you are busy running your business it can be too easy to ignore the growing mound of paperwork that’s piling up on your desk until it feels almost insurmountable. Once it gets to this stage you may feel intimidated by it, but not a virtual assistant. Multitasking and organising is something they make look easy… because it’s what they do for a living! They will take your receipts and input them into your preferred accounting software, they will organise those unread emails that are clogging up your inbox and they’ll take all those business cards that are lying in a drawer and organise the details into a database for you. Knowing that all those long-awaited tasks are being taken care of will allow you to get back to concentrating on your core business.
3. You feel like a zombie
Spending your evenings or weekends catching up on all those administrative tasks that you don’t get a chance to do during the working day means that something else is suffering. What would you do if you had an extra few hours in the week? I’m sure that you would rather be spending that time with your family, catching up with friends, going to the gym or watching horror movies! However it is that you’d like to be spending your evenings and weekends I’m sure it’s not on admin. So why not work with a virtual assistant to improve your work-life balance.
4. It’s not your strength
Let’s face it, the services that a virtual assistant offers aren’t rocket science. It is possible for you to teach yourself more or less anything online these days but if someone else can already do it and that will allow you to get on with running your business, why not let them? Every virtual assistant has a niche, be it bookkeeping, social media management or email marketing, therefore, you are guaranteed to find someone already highly experienced in whatever your needs are. The hours that you would spend teaching yourself something could be much better invested elsewhere in your business.
5. You want to improve efficiency
Even if you are very organised and tend to stay on top of your paperwork on a weekly basis you have to ask yourself if this is the best use of your time. If you spend several hours per week on data entry, online research or scheduling your social media posts the likelihood is that a virtual assistant will be able to get more done in less time than you as they are highly experienced in what they do. Therefore something that takes you two hours to complete may only take a virtual assistant an hour. Outsourcing those tasks will, therefore, free up that time for you to spend on other profit-generating activities.
If any of this sounds familiar and you’d like to know I can help, I would love you to get in touch.
